Almost two years after our talk about trust, The Cleaning Lady tells me her story.
I came here that day, and you were not here. Maybe you were in the shower. But he was here, and everyone was here. So he says to me, don’t worry about it today, just come back next week.
Just come back before we get back, he told me.
But he knew the dog sitter was coming, and I wanted her to arrive to a clean house. I discussed it with him, I said.
I discussed everything with him.
I don’t know, she says, but do you remember when we sat at the table together, all three of us, and talked about it?
I waited, she said. I kept waiting for him to say what he had done. But he didn’t.
He sat there and lied as he looked right at me.

Yep. He’s a creep. That was very lowdown to throw the cleaning lady under the bus.
J. Doe says
It really was. And she’s the nicest lady. Shows up with food, remembers our birthdays (even though I wish she wouldn’t!) – just a really low thing to do.
